Rosstandart will actively support the business that is interested in developing and promoting standards in its market segment. This statement was made by the Head of Rosstadart Mr. Alexey Abramov during the open session «The best practices application of international standards for development of industrial production. Prospects of international standardization», which was held on 9 July, 2015 within International Industrial Exhibition «INNOPROM-2015».
     The event was initiated by the Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) for technical regulating, standardization and conformity assessment, also attended by the Heads of major international standards organizations ISO and IEC Dr. Zhang Xiaogang and Dr. Junji Nomura, CENELEC President Elect Dr. Bernhard Thies, Chairperson of South African Bureau of Standards Boards Mr. Jeff Molobela, ISO Vice-President, the Technical Management Board, General director of Austrian Standards Institute Dr. Elizabeth Stampfl-Blaha a member of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (Minister) for Technical Regulating Mr. Valery Koreshkov, President of RSPP Mr. Alexander Shokhin, the Head of the Federal Service for accreditation of the Russian Federation Mr. Savva Shipov, Senior Vice President for Innovation Development, Russian Railways Mr. Valentin Gapanovich, CEO of Moscow’s World Trade Centre Mr. Vladimir Salamatov, representatives of national authorities and organizations in several countries, and others. 
     The moderators of the event were the Chairman of the RSPP technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment Committee Mr. Dmitry Pumpyansky and the First deputy chairman of the RSPP and Chairman of the Board on technical regulating and standardization in the Ministry of Industry of Russia Mr. Andrey Lotsmanov.
     One of the main issues of the discussion was the development of international standardization and cooperation in the field of standardization among the BRICS countries, cooperation with international standards bodies and others.
     The best practice of using international standards for the development for industrial production and the prospects for the development of international standards were also considered.
     During the opening of the meeting, Mr. Alexander Shokhin reminded that one of the key points of a recent study was the rate of RSPP concerning the exchange of best practices among the industrialists. A survey of the project showed that nowadays about a third of companies are the active users of international standards. According to the head of RSPP the role of international standards in the domestic market is becoming more valuable.
     In accordance with the adoption of the Federal Law "On Standardization in the Russian Federation", the Head of Rosstandart Mr. Alexey Abramov recalled that the main purpose of the development of standards - is an opportunity for the business structures to create normal conditions for cooperation, inter-sectoral coordination and for entering to the other markets.
     One of the main provisions of the law is the possibility of the application of standards in the field of state regulation. Using references to standards in legal acts will make this area not only more transparent, but also will provide an opportunity to obtain prompt feedback from business structures.
